Boots Is No Sonic, But She Has a Lot Of Soul.

I hope character evolves along with your foray into the world of actionscripting. The game is a little too simplistic, it is less of a platformer and more of a timed event/minigame/whatever. All you do is basically press/hold the space bar and the mouse button to jump over pits and reach diamonds. Of course there is the matter of your jump reaching better height if you keep the space bar pressed. So far, it seems to be one those early arcadish style "points games" in where the goal is not to finish the game, but to last a long time playing it. I do run into an occasional problem where I fall in the middle of the ground. It probably just a bug you can work out in the end. I really can't gripe so much though because I like this game and you did a good job on it considering that you did it in three weeks which is very short time period when it comes to developing games. Did I mention liked the music? I really like the music...

Thanks for the thoughtful review, Alter-native. Glad you like the music! We haven't really seen the collision detection problem on our own computers or our friend's computers, but it *is* our first Flash game so I'm not surprised that there are bugs - although contrary to what marius-vanrhijn thinks, we did actually test it and it does work fine for us. :^) Could you tell me a bit about your computer (CPU speed etc.)? I think maybe the collision detection is failing when frames get dropped, because we're using (or trying to use) time-based rather than frame-based animation.

I Don't Quite Understand Shanzerion923...

This game is great! The best part of this game is the addicting quality to it because you're basically traveling the world and you want see the rest of what the world has to offer. You see many locals like egypt and London and New York and it is so cute. The gameplay is not that hard to understand, so there is really no need for a tutorial. It is simply pick up and play(or "click" up and play considering the format). All you do is take your magic pencil and draw a line under the guy. Seriously, how hard is that? You simply draw the line through obstacles that you can see ahead as indicated by the green and red arrows to the right of the screen(green represents a safe passage).

Perhaps The Funniest 2-d Brawler...

...I've seen in a longtime. Besides giving an original concept to the genre(the Kirby inspired power of eating enemies and things to gain their element specific power), this game had me rolling on the floor laughing with over the top powers and the ghetto street talk. The hip-hop influenced soundtrack really fit and was fun to listen to. Eat an electric cleaning device and you can mop the floor with 'em. Eat a trash can and you can puke on 'em! Oh the possibilities! The joke powers were really clever(swallow a a cute harmless puppy or a punching bag and...). Let's not forget the part where the developer started giving out names like "Whatever" and "Another Gray Guy". There was even a chaingun rider level! By the way, did I really get a 20g acievement for swallowing Roxanne the Hooker?

Thanks, that almost meant something to me.

RROOOOOOOOOOOXXANNE-
YOU DON'T HAVE TO PUT ON THAT DRESS TO-NIGHT.

That Was Some Decent Time Crisis Style Gameplay.

The animation at the begining was a pretty decent too. Overall, I find this passable, but do I hope you evolve beyond sticks sometime.

Meh! It's Kid's Stuff!

However, you did imput some decent graphics and sound effects... So It is Passable stuff, but I want a real deal next time. Not some simple minded point and pop gameplay with a whole bunch of target appearing at once. It gets tiring after a while.

Let's Drop Some Criticism...

I think the roads are a little too narrow. I'd say widen them up a bit so I can squeeze by my competitors with a bit more ease.

Listen now, I May Not Know Actionscript...

...But I know this game is hardly "standard". First of all, the game is pretty glitchy. I respect you for taking the time in learning code, but you should master it and realize how glitchey this game is. The jumping is very erratic. If I accidently press the "up" key, my character goes into a spastic fit and I can't play anymore. When I move to the right side of the screen, the screen loses track of the main character and I'm unable to see him. It is possible to hop and bop enemies, yet the jumping is so spastic, that I usualy end up being hit in the side rather then hop perfectly on top of the enemies' heads. Now the colors are little blah, but those are minor and do not relate to gameplay. My main concern is that this game just does not feel right.

Yeah, It Is A Funny Concept...

...Just improve the controls, okay?

MajorMilizii responds:

Thanks!!!
I think so :)

Despite The Crude Art, This is Game Sorta Decent.

At least liked the hard mode, hard mode definately put a twist on the amatuer quick draw genre. Like I say, just improve on your drawing skills, flesh out your anatomies and learn to shade properly.

There's Some Things You Must Work Out.

First of all, implement smooth consecutive strikes to your knight's blows. I have a problem with how the knights' strikes are stiff. Next, there other things like how the weapons dissapointed me. I expected the Devastator, the most powerful and long ranged weapon in the game to just take 'em out in one hit. But no, It still only takes 'em out with two hits which is no better the sword before it(but at least better then the first blade mind you). I guess it has a better range, but still I expected a lot more. The block move should have been more effective too. So, I get all the powerups within the middle of the game, and I wait and wait and wait and about 5 levels later what do I get? A game over screen. Not an ending pic or not even a mere "congratulation". Just a game over screen, same kind you get if you die, only it is more interesting when you die because at least you see a death animation and you don't have to wait through meandering levels until around level 11 to see it.

Abuse it for good, never for evil.
