Dr. Robotnik... A 300 level IQ... MY ASS!

Anyway, your short was okay. A couple flaws I can list might have to do with how slow the pacing was a bit, and how the character design were slightly off model. Still, it was good for a small laugh. The best part was the "hedgehog contacts."

BTW way, I haven't played Sonic 4 yet but, is the first level boss really that damn easy? Like, can I really take him out just by spamming the homing somersault and he'll go down before he even gets to the part where he'll spin his chain ball? Damn, just damn! That's almost as dumb as the time in Adventure when "Egghead" sent out a path of "homing attack-able" flying drones from his vehicle to Sonic saying "HA HA HA! SEE IF YOU CAN MAKE IT HERE!"

ExploadingRabbits responds:

No lol the boss isn't that easy you actually have to land before you homing attack but it's still pretty damn easy you can beat him in about 30 or 20 seconds flat but i totally agree with the sonic adventure boss that was just plain stupid also the pacing is slow cause i wanted people to enjoy that eggman drawing for a little bit but now that i watch it it is kinda slow

Bad Kitty!

It's shit like this that makes me a dog person! Cats shit, piss, puke, and scratch up everything like they own the place. They run away from home, and then they climb up the tallest trees they see...And then they expect you to get them down. Then, after all the rampaging, the devastation of expensive equipment, and totally ruining my COMPLETE BREAKFAST, they put on this "awww, I'm so kewte and innocent" look that absolutely always prevents me from kicking them in the face. Not to mention, Anonymous loves kitties, and Anonymous is always watching me, not that I would want to hurt the precious, adorable little hellspawns anyway. Speaking about hellspawn, thhat little myth about cats is probably true. That myth would be the one about how "God created the body of the cat... And the devil made the head." Cats just don't respect you.

Then again, those lolcat pictures circulating the 'boards always make up for their many faults.

So You Remember That Old 80's Toon Too Eh?

I remember there was this dorky wizard in it who was totally useless! XD
He's always be screwing up and pulled out the wrong spell! I think his name was Presto.

I remember there was this one funny Seanbaby article concerning the character in the cartoon. (He was comparing him to the Superfriends era Justice League; he was giving them all varying scores of "super ratings" from one to ten.)

I think he gave the Wizard a 2/10 or something. Harry Potter he wasn't! XD

Anyway, the art style and the character design seems to mimic the Tv show almost exactly sans the case with the backdrops and the foreground (they look a little plain and not as detailed as the backgrounds from the Tv show). Of course this clip was very short, and all I saw was that trollish dungeon master guy walking and turning and facing towards something offscreen. Welp good luck on your movie, I wonder if it's gonna be a more "darker & edgier" take on the series. You know, maybe with better writing and stuff.

dndrequiem responds:

Alternative,

Thank you for your comment! You are correct in stating that the backgrounds are honestly a bit flat. I'm taking them to task- and will strip the hand drawn dolmens, and much of the background to digitally paint them. Toei was best at it then, and I will attempt to match their quality as best as I can- a huge challenge considering backgrounds usually get last priority with me. That will soon change....
(As for the the script- to date, it will be from Michael Reaves.)

You are also right in stating that the characters themselves appeared close to the show. As a kid of the 80s, any effort taken to create a tribute should match it as closely as possible.

That's my goal. Let's see if it happens.

Thank you for your comment

This Is A Must See!

This flash talks about entertainment and popular culture as viewed through a cynical lens.

It yammers about how our favorite novels, comics, video games, movies, tv shows, and radio dramas affect our minds in a subtle forms of brainwashing.

Nullifying us from the outside world, and feeding our minds with impracticalities while sensationalizing actions that go against our ethics as "cool". (Hey, who doesn't think it's awesome when Milton shoots up an office building?... Well I guess a minority on that but...). Not to mention that it is all distracting us from the real horrors and problems of the word.

The flash also hits the nail on the head on the subject of taking things seriously. For if you take this message word for word, you're a batshit insane conspiracy theorist on same levels of Timothy McVeigh! D: And thus, further proving that there is no escape but "escapism."

My only problem with this flash though is Jesus &#$%! Look at the file size! Be kind on Newgrounds server, okay? Shrink it down to something reasonable that fits in my screen like maybe just 1 MB or better, 738 KB. Tom Fulp (The MAN!) doesn't like that.

This has been Alter-native, and I never appear on the internet, except on the internet... LONG LIVE THE NEW FLESH!

akoRn responds:

believe me, I tried to shrink the size as much as possible. Even lower down the quality of the sound and everything. Sorry tom! hehe
thx for the review/comment

A Good Experiment At Least.

I can see you have a deep desire to animate, and show others artistic techniques.
At first it is nothing special, but then the gradient balls come in. It's very abstract then most flashes you'll see here.
The music (which is from Zelda: The Ocarina of Time), fit well with the almost carnival-esque display of dots.

BigTippi responds:

Thank you; I'm glad that you saw my efforts and the progression of the creation as it grew.

Beautiful... Here's To A Magnificent Troll! :')

For those who aren't in the knowledge of the history behind this masterpiece of an in-joke, Cyber-ren was a disgruntled Invader Zim fan and used to be a member of a notorious spamming group known as the "Barney Bunch." Whether this trolling was meant as means to vent frustration towards Nickelodeon for canceling such a wonderful darkly humorous show I do not know...

Their legacy as Barneys, although subtle, is quite notable enough. They are the reason why the search engine on this site negates the word "barney" from your searches. Basically it was a group similar to various "ock groups" except everyone masqueraded as a different version of Barney the Dinosaur. Members included NaziBarney, SovietBarney, GheycookieBarney(The "gheyest" cookie in the cookie jar), StrawberryBarney, and our hero Cyberen who was formerly known as "ItchyBarney." It was formed around the idea that "Barney the Dinosaur" was a gay pedophile who molested other characters from kiddie TV shows (Like Arthur, The Wiggles, Teletubbies, and a few Nickelodeon shows like Rugrats). One of the most notable of their rule 34 fanfiction was this juvenile copypasta about an alternate character interpretation of Drew Pickles being not only a deeply closeted homosexual but "The gayest man in the world." Their little stories were crude, immaturely wrote, deviant, sexually explicit, and scatological to say the most, and were posted in forums with the intention to disgust and irritate fellow NGers. Besides spamming the BBS, they also committed numerous flash atrocities, which they would spam up the portal with. These little animation mostly consisted of still pictures or Barney and Drew Pickles spinning and broken text speech. There was also another time when StrawberryBarney made an extremely annoying fart noise as a sound file which was looped in their entries. They were also notable for introducing many innocent eyes to Hello!.jpg or "Goatse" as it is more commonly known. And boy! The spam floods were HUGE! Granted, as with other spam groups, they too had their "lighter" creative side that actually cared about the state of Newgrounds to an extent. Keep in mind that their time was also the time when the NG fanbase was divided into two extremes: "The Foamheads": Foamy fanboys and sullen jerks who embraced the cheapness of Neurotically Yours, and gave artists like Illwillpress a free ride with easy awards while ignoring actual struggling and hardworking artists, and spam groups like the Star Syndicate, who spam the portal to strike down at the masses by trolling the humorless Foamheads on behalf of the ignored artists. The Barney Bunch slides towards the latter on the scale. So like most spam groups, there was a member or two who was actually talented, and had interest in animation, and was pretty good at it, and that guy was ItchyBarney(Seriously, check out Cyberen's other stuff like Drewventures in Drewland. [It's strange, but definately higher quality than the usual output of the BarneyBunch). The Barney Bunch soon came to an end when they engaged in the notorious act of "file swapping." Basically they would make average quality works that would get passed by the voting masses (Hentai quizzes, tutorials, etc.), and put some sort of script in the file that would swap the movie with one of their usual "DREW PICKLES MOLESTS BARNEY!" crap. If I remember correctly, this actually resulted in the entries winning awards! Nontheless, The Barney Bunch were banned for this misdeed along with accusations that they put viruses in their movies. (Which is untrue, for that was the work of a loser named Err0r.)
The Barney Bunch may be dead, but it members live on. Itchbarney has been reincarnated as Cyberen, and is doing swell.

Anyway, this animation was truly a spectacle. It was quite a nostalgia trip for me. Those times were heavy times, but fun and good times too. It just goes to show you that sometimes the most interesting stuff from NG is not always what goes on in the flash series, but what goes on behind the scenes in making them.

cyberen responds:

If Newgrounds has a wiki I suggest you write a page about the Barney Bunch.

Classic Prank, But There's A Gaping Plot Hole...

Why is the Joker in the Wayne Manor? Why is Batman still wearing his mask in the shower? In fact, why is he even parading as his superhero persona in this supposed Wayne Manor? Is this even Wayne Manor? Maybe this is not Wayne Manor, maybe this is some other person's home, like Vicki Vale's or someplace, and Batman is just here for that person's protection, but he needed a shower because he smelled real bad, so he decided to take one for the request of the housemate, but the Joker managed to sneak into the household, and snuck into the bathroom just to pull that prank before causing more trouble like holding the housemate hostage. Or Maybe, the supposed person who Batman is supposed to protect in the house IS the Joker, because the Joker is really good at disguising himself, and The Joker actually arranged this just so he could pull that prank. Or maybe, this is just another random DC "elseworld" where the Joker and Batman are a gay couple.

RobsonStudios responds:

haha i was originaly gunna make it Alfred, but joker is just the best! and he kept his mask on because come on, thats just funny!

Ah So You Guys Are Fans of YMO Too!

"Rydeen" is definitely one of their best!

TheStarSyndicate responds:

YES! I'm totally addicted to Rydeen. Honestly, some days I put it on repeat for at least an hour.

That Was Actually Quite Chilling...

Anyway, as for whether or not this qualifies for bot day. I'd say of course a chat bot qualifies as a robot. Not only for the fact that this "bot" has an advanced AI, but also for the fact that it is a "bot" so tho say.

So yes this qualifies, and Issac Asimov would be proud.

Jimtopia responds:

Thank you, good to know I have the ability to create this thing the pro's call "atmosphere."

Say. Who's Spigot?

Just wanted to know who you're lampooning in your spam entry and what this beatnik fellow did to you guys.

Also, Space Harrier FTW!
