An Apple A Day...

I don't what to say. This thing is so different from the entries I usually see here. If David Lynch was a game designer, this could be the kind of game he would create. By the way, what the music that plays when you're walking around town?

Merol responds:

THANKS A LOT!!
And the song's name is "Where the World Begins and Ends" by "The Dears".

I Watched The Video, And I Must Say...

...That Antoine Dodson is my new hero.

imjeffhip responds:

he's one tight dude

It's DOOM! But With RACOONS!

It's okay, but can you add other weapons like chainsaws and rocket launchers? That would make it much cooler.

Kalisme responds:

Well, this is the final version of Raccoon Crisis 1... I'll only add to it to fix some glitches if people want me to... But I'll definitely take your advice on my next flash first person shooter (If I ever finish it). The new engine actually has solid walls, which looks WAY better than the sprites I used here... I'd definitely like to add some rocket launchers to spray gibs everywhere... and some sorts of close range weapon. Thanks for the comments :D

Mine's 358.5...

Beat that?

KonkilA responds:

440 >:)

I Find It Pretty Ironic...

Because this game, which is shooting crap flash, is a crappy flash itself!
Graphics are pretty uninspired and hardly any sound...
On the upside, it IS pretty self aware. Plus, it takes at least some effort to get action script to work properly. So I voted a 2.
Overall, it's pretty bland, and maybe a little hypocritical... But crap flash deserves to die.

aNtHr4x responds:

yes, this is a crap!!!,

but, i haved this idea and.....

you know the rest xD

Interesting... But...

You sure this works?

BlueOrbit responds:

Well... it depends on the person.

Why Did Hit The Spikes Again?!

This is perhaps one the best I've seen in a long time. Sometimes I forget that I'm playing a flash game, and I start to feel I'm playing an underrated classic computer game from 1990. I love the music, very classic with a heroic feel. Very very well orchestrated and epic. Is it original by the way? Anyway, there seems to be an attempt at story too. This draconian space pirate has potential, he seems like a bad ass. So his music fits him quite well. This game is like classic NES Mega Man and a little Metroid for good measure. I wish this series good luck.

Pseudolonewolf responds:

The music was composed by myself specifically for this game... So I'm glad that people like it!

Well, What A Pretty Game We Got Here...

I must say the author is quite an artiste. The fantasy world in this game is simply luscious and vibrant. You basically play as a little fox with faerie wings who must recolor his world. Along the way you fight dragons and such in a style like that of a simple mimic game(ala varied forms of simon). You also collect bugs and rainbow fluid to refill your color meter. Levels are very simple, you just duck and fly your way through while avoiding monster and collecting bugs and items. It not that very deep I would say, and most adults may not stop to play this sort thing. But I'm pretty sure the kiddies will love it.

ERstudio responds:

Thanks. Actually we made this game for girls and children. But we will be happy, if some adult players will likes it too.

I hope character evolves along with your foray into the world of actionscripting. The game is a little too simplistic, it is less of a platformer and more of a timed event/minigame/whatever. All you do is basically press/hold the space bar and the mouse button to jump over pits and reach diamonds. Of course there is the matter of your jump reaching better height if you keep the space bar pressed. So far, it seems to be one those early arcadish style "points games" in where the goal is not to finish the game, but to last a long time playing it. I do run into an occasional problem where I fall in the middle of the ground. It probably just a bug you can work out in the end. I really can't gripe so much though because I like this game and you did a good job on it considering that you did it in three weeks which is very short time period when it comes to developing games. Did I mention liked the music? I really like the music...

timknauf responds:

Thanks for the thoughtful review, Alter-native. Glad you like the music! We haven't really seen the collision detection problem on our own computers or our friend's computers, but it *is* our first Flash game so I'm not surprised that there are bugs - although contrary to what marius-vanrhijn thinks, we did actually test it and it does work fine for us. :^) Could you tell me a bit about your computer (CPU speed etc.)? I think maybe the collision detection is failing when frames get dropped, because we're using (or trying to use) time-based rather than frame-based animation.

Perhaps The Funniest 2-d Brawler...

...I've seen in a longtime. Besides giving an original concept to the genre(the Kirby inspired power of eating enemies and things to gain their element specific power), this game had me rolling on the floor laughing with over the top powers and the ghetto street talk. The hip-hop influenced soundtrack really fit and was fun to listen to. Eat an electric cleaning device and you can mop the floor with 'em. Eat a trash can and you can puke on 'em! Oh the possibilities! The joke powers were really clever(swallow a a cute harmless puppy or a punching bag and...). Let's not forget the part where the developer started giving out names like "Whatever" and "Another Gray Guy". There was even a chaingun rider level! By the way, did I really get a 20g acievement for swallowing Roxanne the Hooker?

I-smel responds:

Thanks, that almost meant something to me.
