Well, What Can I Say?

I depicted myself as a young, handsome, doe-eyed bishie.

It's DOOM! But With RACOONS!

It's okay, but can you add other weapons like chainsaws and rocket launchers? That would make it much cooler.

Kalisme responds:

Well, this is the final version of Raccoon Crisis 1... I'll only add to it to fix some glitches if people want me to... But I'll definitely take your advice on my next flash first person shooter (If I ever finish it). The new engine actually has solid walls, which looks WAY better than the sprites I used here... I'd definitely like to add some rocket launchers to spray gibs everywhere... and some sorts of close range weapon. Thanks for the comments :D

I Love Cave Story Too...

For those not in the know, Cave Story is a unique pixel graphic action adventure game reminiscent of old school NES classics. It has the weapon/item gathering and exploration focus of Metroid and a couple tricky death traps ala Mega Man coupled with town segments that bring Zelda to mind and spiced with an EXP system for your various weapons. You explore a great labyrinth full of many enemies of different kinds of enemies as you progress through a detailed story of which not seldom seen in most mainstream fare. Did I mention it has a GREAT SOUNDTRACK? Plenty of hummable themes I'm talking about!
It's also free! Just search a site and you can download a version with a translation patch from some fansite very legally. Or you can download it off WiiWare if you like to play 52 Pick-Up with dollar bills in the middle of traffic...

This game here offers a similar kind of gameplay set up like the game I was talking about. While inspired, it is not a rip off since it offers its own unique tale and a different scenario(a space station) and it's own atmospheric soundtrack, Bosses, and pretty gruelingly difficult screen hogging bullet segments. So it's a different experience. It's also lengthy, with plenty of save spots too, just in case you want to quit and resume progress. It's hard to believe this is a simple free flash game!

It allows anyone with an Internet connection and access to Newgrounds to experience the feel of a true gaming experience. I give this game two thumbs up!

Cute.

That's all I gotta say.

Although, a musical selection wouldn't hurt. Like, maybe some stuff that you think would fit your character's personality and surrounding mood. It's also good to survey suggestions from your demographic for what music to put in. You could even compose your own and you can submit the pieces as audio submissions too! Drawing different poses wont hurt either. In fact, it makes good training for young artists like you and me. Her right arm does seem to be a little too thick. Not to mention her hand is conspicuously behind her leg. But it's flash and if you drew it with the mouse, props to you. Besides, drawing different poses will help that. It might go well with the whole character generator thing. Nice variety of dresses. Might wanna organize them though. Like the qi pao. Good work and good luck on your next entry.

Your Game Needs Work...

Okay, where to begin.

First, would be the aiming. I like the fact that I have the basic movement of 4 directions, but NOT if I can only aim in two of them. Especially considering the zombies that I must kill are incoming from the North, and I can only aim East and West.

There's this weird schism in the controls which I found after pressing the space bar a couple times. When I first tried firing the natural way (that would be "rapidly" if you have unlimited ammo which I do), I noticed that my gun had an absurdly short range of fire. It wasn't till I held the space bar "down" for a while that my rifle actually did have long range! I just needed to hold down till the bullet met its undead target. I noticed another too, the bullet would change direction in MID FLIGHT after being FIRED. Either my rifle super cool gun from the future that fires remote control bullets, or it's just another case of faulty scripting in the code of the actionscript. I'll go with the former since prefer my weapons sleek and slick, no matter when the time period.

I also don't like being gnawed to death by nonsensical floating skulls that I can't shoot down and aren't that scary to begin with other than annoying.

The graphics are little bland, yes, but that's the least of the problems. Especially considering the other works that manage to get past the radar here.

Don't feel ashamed though. Your scripting sort of works, which is an accomplishment on my behalf. Just polish the graphics a bit, make em a little detailed. Better animations, just make it look cool. Axe those stupid skull swarms, or explain them I guess. Either make me aim in all 4 directions, or at least just north and south! Or make a side scroller instead!

Mine's 358.5...

Beat that?
